Jal Neti Kriya 

Familiar to all of you who have been on our retreats, Jal Neti is the simple technique of cleansing your nasal path to remove mucous and blockages, if any. The process consists of pouring water in one nostril and flushing it out from the other nostril, ensuring that your nasal passage is kept clean. 

Benefits:

  • Helps your respiratory system get stronger

  • Reduces infections linked to eye, nose and ears

  • Cools the brain by drawing out excessive heat (reducing stress & migraines)

 

Oil Pulling

Oil pulling is an ancient ayurvedic technique. Another simple procedure, oil pulling consists of swishing a tablespoon of oil in your mouth for about 20 minutes on an empty stomach. Doing this can remove toxins from the body and even improve oral health.

Trataka

Tratka is a Hatha Yoga method aimed at developing and improving your concentration. One focuses on a single point, either an object or a candle flame without any distraction. The idea behind it is that if we can fix our gaze on a particular point without being distracted, we can train our mind to be calm and focused.

Kapalbhati Pranayama

Kapalbhati is a breathing exercise that helps oxygen to circulate while strengthening the muscles of the stomach and abdomen. One simply has to sit comfortably, inhale deeply and exhale in short bursts while pulling the stomach in towards the back. One cycle of Kapalbhati consists of 20 such inhalations and exhalations. 

Benefits:

  • Strengthens the lungs and increases their capacity

  • rejuvenates the brain and energizes the nerves

  • generates heat in the body, dissolving toxins and other waste matter.
