Class Guidelines
The practice of yoga begins from the moment you enter Platinum Yoga.
Create the best experience for yourself and others by following these guidelines:
1. Arriving at the Studio
Please arrive at least 10-15 minutes before your class to allow yourself ample time to sign-in and prepare for the class. All classes start on time.
Once the class has started, you will not be allowed to enter the class. This is to ensure that the class is not interrupted as a mark of respect to both teachers and students, as well as for safety purposes.
2. In the Studio
Remain Silent & Maintain Peace – The yoga studio is a silent room. Please refrain from talking loudly while in the studio corridors.
No eating – Do not eat in the studio.
No shoes – Please place your shoes in the shoe racks at the studio door or in your lockers.
No mobile phones – Please switch off your mobile phones or leave them on vibrate mode. Do refrain from taking your phone into the practice rooms.
1 towel a day – For your safety, please refrain from using the towel as a mat towel. Towels are strictly to be used for shower purpose only and extra towels will be chargeable at $1 per towel.
Do not loiter – With your safety in mind, please refrain from loitering around the studio and leave the studio as soon as your class has ended.
Do not leave your class before it ends – To avoid class disruptions, students are not allowed to leave during the class
Mutual respect – Please do not scream or shout at our staff.
3. Class Booking
Class bookings can be made up to 2 days in advance. It is important that you book your class in advance as some classes are more heavily attended than others. We also limit our class sizes so that they are not overcrowded. If a class you wish to take is full, we will place you on the waitlist and notify you of an opening as soon as possible. Do note that you are not allowed to book or attend a class using some else’s account. Booking opens from 6.30am to 11pm and closes 20 mins prior to the class starts.
Effective 16 December 2020, memberships that are purchased before Circuit Breaker (7 April 2020) will be entitled to 1 class booking via the app and 1 standby class.
Waitlist – When a reservation is cancelled more than 2 hours before the class starts, a slot will be open to students on the waiting list and an email confirmation will be sent to them. Do note that we are unable to confirm the students on the waitlist for all late cancellations (less than 2 hours before class starts) or no-shows. These slots will be given to students on standby. Your position on the waiting list has no influence on your standby position.
You can only be on ONE waitlist within the same time slot – no overlap waitlist bookings allowed
Standby – Standby option is available for students who are physically present at the studio. Registration opens 30 minutes before class starts and must be done in person, on a first-come, first-served basis. Our staff will release available slots 5 minutes before class commences to registered students on standby. We seek your understanding to avoid attending more than 2 standby classes a day. Priority will be given to students who are attending their first class of the day and management reserves the right to cancel a student’s booking if he/she is attending their 3rd class (inclusive of the standby class) of the day. In case of dispute, the management’s decision is final.
To avoid class disruptions, students are not allowed to leave their class (in progress) to register as a standby for following classes. Kindly remain in class and register only when your class has ended.
Livestream class booking – Booking closes 30 minutes prior to the class starts. Call-ins after booking has closed will be rejected. With effective from 21 September 2020, Livestream class booking closes 60 minutes prior to the class starts.
4. Cancellations & No-Shows
To improve your Platinum Yoga experience, we have implemented a strict cancellation policy to ensure that all members can enjoy their classes. This cancellation policy applies to both in-studio and livestream class booking.
Please give us 2 hours of advance notice if you cannot attend your pre-booked class so that we can release your booking to wait-listed students. Cancellations done less than 2 hours before class starts will constitute as late cancellation. First-time late cancellations and/or no-shows will receive a reminder from the management.
With effective from 15 September 2020, late cancellation and/or no-shows after the first warning will result in your online booking privileges being revoked for a week. However, standby option is still available.
5. Sign-In (IPAD Check-In – For Members Only)
You must check-in at the front desk before entering the studio for class, even if you have reserved a space in advance. Please tap ‘CHECK IN’ on the IPAD at the reception counter. Students not signed in will not be able to take a class.
On your first visit, you will be required to fill out a new student registration form. Please be sure to sign a waiver and indicate any physical injuries or special health conditions you may have (applicable for both members & guests).
Non-members will have to book through their assigned Yoga Advisor.
6. Personal Belongings
Platinum Yoga accepts no responsibility for the loss or damage of locker contents. Students are not to store any valuables in the lockers and should the student insists on doing so, it may be done at his/her own risk. The Centre will not accept any liabilities for any items lost or stolen in The Centre.
Lockers are not for overnight use unless permission is granted by the management. Items left overnight in our lockers will either be disposed of or placed in the Lost-and-Found for 1 week. If not collected within a week, the ownership of the items will cease and they will be disposed of.
7. Preparation Before Class
We provide everything you might need for your practice: mats, props, and other equipment.
Yoga is best enjoyed on an empty or light stomach, depending on your health condition and types of classes, so eat lightly 2-3 hours before your class.
Make sure to keep hydrated both before and after your class. Tell your teacher about any injuries. This will help the teacher know how to adjust your posture or show you a modified pose if necessary.

Beginner's Tips
Starting yoga can be a daunting prospect. So many different styles, so many teachers - which one should I try, how often should I practise? Here are a few tips to help you get started:
- Do not eat 2-3 hours before your class and try to hydrate yourself by drinking plenty of water before class. Arrive 10 minutes earlier before the class starts - to register, change and settle down.
- For your first class, choose a level that is suitable for you and introduce yourself to the teacher before class begins. Let them know about any health concerns you might have and let them know this is your first class.
- Ask questions before and after class to better understand the practice. Yoga can teach us much, but we all have different questions, so ask yours. Try to create a relationship with your teachers so they can help you.
- Practise regularly to get the best results. Once a week will feel good, but three times a week will create real change fast. And don't go overboard - two classes a day, every day is too much, especially for beginners.
- Try a few (or all) the different styles of yoga we offer. Find the practice which you feel best suits your personality and personal objectives.
