What is Reformer Pilates?

What is Reformer Pilates?

Reformer Pilates was founded by Pilates creator, Joseph Pilates during his internment in World World I as a nurse. To help his bed-bound patients start toning their muscles, he experimented by attaching springs to the hospital beds.

How Does It Work?

Reformer Pilates practice is conducted on a bed-like frame with a flat platform on it called the carriage. It has different weighted spring combinations to create resistance when the carriage is being pushed and pulled. With the help of a reformer bed, it allows you to target small muscles groups and promote coordination, strength, flexibility and balance.
