One would usually associate the word “Yoga” with Calm and Peaceful. Why?
You’ll most likely feel better after a yoga session. Your body feels relaxed yet strong and your mind is clear.
Asana
Asana refers to yoga poses or postures. Regular practice helps to increase strength and flexibility, allowing patients to feel their body and realise how competent and dependable they are again. Asana practice can also help relieve medication side effects such as joint and muscle aches. Other benefits include improved sleep and reduced anxiety and depression.
Pranayama
Take a full deep breath. Practice this anywhere and anytime you want.
Pranayama is the regulation of breath which helps relax the mind and body. This breathing exercise is beneficial for patients who are coping with the emotional and physical distress from cancer treatments.
Meditation
“When meditation is mastered, the mind is unwavering like the flame of a candle in a windless place.’ – Bhagavad Gita
Meditation has a therapeutic effect which helps one to feel more peaceful and focused. Promote positivity by overcoming negative thoughts through a simple 15 minutes meditation session.
Despite that there is no scientific proof that yoga can help cure or prevent cancer, studies have suggested that it might actually help cancer patients physiologically.
