MOON SALUTATION
(CHANDRA NAMASKAR)
Never heard of it? Well…we all got so used to Sun A & B but not Moon in our Yoga practice. It is considered a practice to soothe our chakras towards the evening whereas Sun A & B are awakening. This practice entails you to move on the wide side of your Mat and it requires more grounding than ever.
Differences of Sun & Moon
YOGA POSTURES OR MOVEMENT
For Sun Salutation A & B, you only focus your practice on facing-front of your mat whereas in Moon Salutation, you would be facing the side, the front and the back of your mat, basically its like a 360 movement along your Yoga mat.
ENERGY
Sun Salutation A & B triggers heat into our bodies and gives us the internal fire to start the day and Moon Salutation is a slower pace but provides cooling for our body and replenishes our vital energy needed for the next day.
TIME
Awakening Sun Salutations is done in the morning while Soothing Moon Salutations is practice towards the end of the day.
