Westgate yogis, look out for our workshop – “Yoga Wheel: The Art of Backbending”.

Time: 12pm – 2pm (2 hours)

For those unfamiliar with the yoga wheel, it is a prop for learning inversions and arm balances, deepening your backbends and gaining flexibility in your shoulders, chest, hip flexors and quads.
This workshop utilises the yoga wheel to open tight upper backs and shoulders and yogis can use the yoga wheel as a support for them to get into postures safely and painlessly. With the yoga wheel resting on your spine, your backbends are achieved with minimal compressions between the spinal vertebrae.
Who should attend:
- Those looking to develop their backbend technique safely
- Those suffering from tight/stiff backs , chest and shoulders
- Seeking to improve flexibility
- Keen on mastering intermediate and advanced backbends, with inclusion of inversions and arm balances
Who should not attend:
- Pregnant women
- Those with severe lower back injury

Have you seen those advanced postures where yogis balance on their arms only, with their feet off the ground? Ever wanted to try as well but worried that you might fall over without the right balance or maybe you feel the lack of strength?
Learn the right techniques to pull off various arm balances without injuring yourself. Our Instructor Anil will guide you through the obstacles and challenges as you learn the fundamentals on how to keep your wrists and shoulders safe by engaging the strength of your forearms, abdominals and back.
